Adopt a Domestic Short Hair (short coat)

Domestic Short Hair (short coat) Cat

Abby the Cat needs a home

ID:  Abby
Internal ID: C010

Abby, about 5 months old, is a unique tortoise-shell and striped tabby cat, in beautiful brown colors with orange highlights. She is extremely friendly and she LOVES people. Abby has been through a lot. In January, she was hit by a car and sustained a badly broken leg. She was about to be euthanized when the Yolo County SPCA rescued her, and the UCD School of Veterinary Medicine repaired her complicated fracture. She was placed in foster care, and is healing nicely, but still needs restricted activity (which isn’t easy because she wants to be a very active kitty!). Abby really likes to be rubbed and pet, talked to, played with, and is fond of sitting on a lap or snuggling up to her humans. So far, she isn’t very comfortable being held or carried around. Abby gets along well with other friendly kittens and definitely enjoys feline companionship too. She can entertain herself, but she likes lots of human attention; she would like to run around and play, but can also be calm and rest quietly – Abby is a perfect combination of human companion and playful cat!

All of our felines have been altered prior to adoption. Kittens have been given their first shots of FVRCP, adults are up-to-date on vaccinations, and all cats have are Feline Leukemia tested (negative) and micro chipped. The fee to adopt is $90 for kittens or $60 for adults over 1 year (the fee helps cover these costs and the cost of the microchip registration).

The Yolo County SPCA is a private, not-for-profit, foster home-based animal rescue organization and does not have a shelter. All of our animals awaiting adoption are in foster homes. For more information about this animal, please email [email protected]. For more general questions, please see our website at www.yolospca.org.

We are still accepting applications on this animal; we do remove the pets from our site once they are adopted.
